Yahoo meme:Microblogging platform from Yahoo

A few weeks ago Yahoo launched it's own microblogging platform called Yahoo meme in Portuguese.It has now extended the service to Spanish and English.
As of now You need an invitation to create an account and get started.The whole web is comparing the yahoo offerings with that of Twitter,Posterus and Tumblr.

According to readwriteweb Yahoo Meme is really more of a back-to-basics micro-blogging service that feels a lot more like Posterous or Tumblr than Twitter.

Will yahoo succeed this time? It's track record with the social networking is not good though.It recently shut down SpotM ,an India centric social networking initiative from Yahoo India.Let's wait to see if Yahoo can compete with other MicroBlogging sites.
