A lot is happening in WordPress and Blogger

WordPress has announced a lot of new features in the last few days.On 7Th September it announced a feature called RSS Cloud to bring all the blogs into real-time.

Why is this so important?
This is what Matt says in the blog post.
Right now how most people interact with feeds is by checking that it updated every now and then, usually about once an hour. Can you imagine waiting an hour to get your emails? (The world would probably be more productive.) RSS Cloud is an extra element in your RSS feed that allows subscribers to say “Hey, let me know as soon as you’ve updated, kthx.”

On 8Th September Automatic ,the parent company for WordPress declared the acquisition of a spell checker called After the Deadline. The service is already live on blogs. You can watch the demo here to learn about the service.

Today it announced the arrival of Links Widget, which allows the bloggers to display text and/or image links to the comment and post feeds.

Now you must be wondering what blogger has done recently.Earlier it promised to launch a few things as part of the 10Th Birthday celebration. On 17Th August it announced the support for the PubSubHubbub protocol to turn the feeds into real-time streams.(similar to RSS Cloud by WordPress).Later it introduced Send To feature ,Label Cloud,Share from Nav Bar and a Social Vibe Gadget.

While WordPress has announced some really cool features,Blogger has not done anything great except support for PubSubHubbub. All other features are little enhancements.Let us wait and watch to see who wins the race.
