Find and Replace in multiple files without opening

Today I needed to replace some texts across multiple files.Since I am a regular user of EditPlus ,I was able to do it using EditPlus.Do a "Find in Files" to find a particular word across multiple files.Once you get the list of files in results pane ,right click and select "Open All".Now perform Replace (Ctrl+H) and select "All Open Files" under "Replace All range" to perform Find and Replace in multiple files at once.

But the problem with this is that I had to open all the files to do a Search and Replace .This will be cumbersome if you have to do it in hundreds of files. So I looked for a tool which can do only Search and Replace in Multiple files without opening them.My search ended with a tool called TextCrawler. The size of the installer is just 1.7Mb and it is very easy to use.You can download the TextCrawler here.

Open TextCrawler after installing and select appropriate Filename/Filter .You can select *.* if you want to find and replace across multiple file extensions.browse to the starting folder ,Select the Find and Replace terms and hit Replace.
The tool finds the word across multiple files and then asks before replacing.Select yes and it will replace all the occurrences. It even supports regular expressions.

There are multiple tools available in the market to do this. But what I liked about this tool is that it does the job without opening the files and this program is absolutely freeware.
