GMail Tasks graduates from labs, same model launched in Calendar

GMail tasks, one of the most popular experimental GMail features becomes the first graduate from Labs.It is now accessible directly under the contacts link above the chat list.

It has also extended the Labs model to the Google Calendar ,meaning you will now see new Google Calendar features under Google Calendar labs.It has introduced six new features such as Next Meeting ,Free or Busy,World Clock,Background Image,Attach google docs,Jump to Date under Google Calendar Labs.

This is what the GMail post says:
We've received a lot of positive feedback about Gmail Labs, and we've found that testing something in Labs can be a good way to help decide whether it should become a regular part of Gmail. So we decided to extend the same model to Google Calendar.

If you are a developer you will be happy to know that google has also released and experimental API for Calendar.
