Microsoft Office 2010:In the cloud now

Microsoft today announced the Technical Preview program for Office 2010 suite of products .Lots of new features such as improved audio and visual capabilities in PowerPoint 2010,new data analysis and visualization tools to track and highlight important data trends in Excel 2010,advanced email organization , search and a completely redesigned look in outlook 2010 are introduced in this version .But the biggest addition is the Office Web Applications which is the online version of Word,Excel,PowerPoint and OneNote.
The Office Web Applications will be free to use and will be competing directly with other cloud offerings from Google ,Zoho and Adobe.Now it remains to be seen what will be the strategy from Google and Zoho to counter Microsoft.You can have a look at the new offerings and videos in this page.You can register for the technical preview program here.
